With a committed investment of €15,000.00 from private investors, LAPI2S – the Laboratory of Privacy and Information Systems Security – was officially established in December 2021. Our mission is to provide a dedicated hub for research and collaboration, serving as a focal point where academics and industry leaders come together to address critical cybersecurity challenges facing both sectors. We offer a dynamic environment for Master’s and Ph.D. students from any private, public, national, or international university to engage in cutting-edge research and practical learning experiences.
Our core activities are organized into four key areas:
- Digital Forensics Training and Research: LAPI2S is dedicated to advancing techniques and methodologies in digital forensics, including the investigation and analysis of digital evidence to support legal proceedings. Our research focuses on developing novel tools and techniques for digital evidence acquisition, preservation, and analysis, with a particular emphasis on emerging technologies such as cloud computing, IoT, and blockchain.
- Data Analytics Training and Research: In an era of big data, LAPI2S is at the forefront of research in data analytics for cybersecurity applications. Our research spans the development of machine learning and data mining techniques for anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and threat intelligence. We collaborate with industry partners to apply data analytics to real-world cybersecurity challenges, such as network intrusion detection, malware analysis, and fraud detection.
